Students who wish to earn academic credit for their internship must first verify that they meet all of the pre-requisites to enroll in their department's internship course. Please听schedule an appointment听for internship credit approval with a career coach in the Office of Career Services to confirm eligibility to earn academic credit for an internship, and learn about how to begin the internship credit approval process. You will be provided with next steps at your career services appointment听to try and get the internship approved for academic credit within your department.
Each major has specific guidelines and requirements that students must meet in order to obtain academic credit for an internship experience. Consult with career services and your faculty internship coordinator to confirm prerequisites.
INTERNSHIP REGISTRATION DEADLINES:
SUMMER 2026
- Fall Term (14-week) internship deadline is Friday, Sept. 18, 2026.
- Fall Term (2nd 7-weeks) internship deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026.
FALL 2026
- Summer Term (12-week) internship deadline is June 12, 2026.
- Summer Term (2nd 6-weeks) internship deadline is July 8, 2026.

Students are unable to register for internship classes on Workday. Once your internship has been approved for academic credit, the Registrar鈥檚 Office will add the course for you. You do not need to add the class during course registration. To learn about application and registration details please email Christina听Bevilacqua at听cbevilacqua@ut.edu. Before seeking credit for an internship, check your major requirements below to see if you are eligible to earn academic credit. *Retroactive credit for an internship is not permitted.
If you are completing an internship for academic credit, but something doesn't work out during the semester, please notify the Office of Career Services at听cbevilacqua@ut.edu听and your faculty internship coordinator ASAP!听
- Students who are unable to complete the internship due to no fault of their own (e.g. sexual harassment, injury, etc.) should discuss their options with their faculty internship coordinator. The faculty member will work with you to make alternative arrangements so that you are not penalized.听
