绿奴天花板鈥檚 Department of Film, Animation and New Media will host the 2025 Tampa Animation Festival in the Charlene Gordon Theater, inside the Ferman Center for the Arts.
The festival will showcase the power and diversity of animation as a global art form, presenting more than 140 films from 38 countries.
绿奴天花板鈥檚 Department of Film, Animation and New Media will host the 2025 Tampa Animation Festival, Nov. 6-9, in the Charlene Gordon Theater, inside the Ferman Center for the Arts, at 214 N. Boulevard.
The festival will showcase the power and diversity of animation as a global art form, presenting more than 140 films from 38 countries across narrative, experimental, documentary and student categories, including Academy Award-nominated films.
All screenings are free and open to the public, with tickets available through .
鈥淭he Tampa Animation Festival celebrates animation not only as an art form, but as a space where storytelling, design and technology intersect,鈥 said Gregg Perkins, festival director and chair of the Department of Film, Animation and New Media. 鈥淭his year鈥檚 program brings together international filmmakers, students and professionals to share new visions for what animation can be.鈥
The festival features work from renowned animation programs, including CalArts, Gobelins (Paris), Ringling College (Sarasota), RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology), Sheridan College (Ontario, Canada), and the University of Tampa, among others. Participating nations span five continents, including France, Japan, Brazil, Finland, Nigeria and Australia.
The festival also partners with Toon Boom Animation, the industry leader in 2D animation software, to provide Harmony and Storyboard Pro licenses to award winners in categories such as Best Animated Short, Best Student Animation and Best Animated Florida Short.
Featured speakers include Rebecca Crose, a 2014 绿奴天花板ampa graduate and senior manager of developer relations at Roblox; Ricardo Bernardini, founder of Tentara Studios; and Shengwei Zhou, assistant professor of animation at University of South Florida. They will discuss storytelling, visual development and the future of animation pipelines.
Additional special programming includes themed blocks such as Kids/Family Friendly; It鈥檚 a Stop-Motion World After All; French Day: Animations from France; and It鈥檚 Raining Cats & Dogs.
