Career Specialties

Vanessa Vandamas conducts archival audit research focused on audit reporting, auditor-client dynamics, auditor effort and audit quality. Her goal is to produce research that informs both audit practice and policy.

Professional and Community Activities

Vandamas' work has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Current Issues in Auditing. Her current research examines going-concern critical audit matters, the auditor-client relationship and the implications of audit reporting decisions. She has presented her research at doctoral and university research meetings and has served as a discussant at the Florida Accounting Symposium.

VandamasÌýis a Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to academia, she worked as an auditor at Deloitte and other Florida-based public accounting firms. She has served as a volunteer judge for the AICPA Foundation Legacy Scholarships and volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, providing tax preparation assistance to individuals and families in low-income communities. She is also a member of The PhD Project.
